Hi! I'm Jaclyn. I'm a graphic designer & illustrator. I post my original work here, along with occasional stuff about my life in Japan.

I went to Naoshima (for the third time) this weekend, for a friend’s birthday trip. It was the first time we didn’t have to fight crowds to see the art projects, and it was great! Every time I go, there seems to be something different and… magical? Last time we went on a late night walk and discovered bioluminescent plankton in the harbor (shaking boat lines  made explosions of light), and this time the mountainsides were covered with vibrant purple azaleas.

It’s that time of year again…. Sakura and sayonara. :( The hardest thing about the expat life (for me) is saying goodbye to friends who have decided to repatriate and/or embark on a new adventure. I can say “see you again someday!” with hope, but I’m realistic. It’s always harder than it sounds. This year is going to be a tough one.
